Genocide
Genocide - Why does it happen and what can we do?
What is genocide?
The deliberate killing of a large group of people, especially those of a particular nation or ethnic group. Also genocide means any of the following with the intent to destroy in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group.
Why do you think that genocide happens?
To kill of a group of people perhaps to shut them up or wipe them out completely. To kill a culture or nation. They could also be caused by an underlying desire of revenge or because of fear, anger or an aggression towards a certain group of people.
Why did genocide happen in Rwanda?
The Rwandan genocide began with the “assassination” of Rwandan president Habyarimana in 1994 April 6. There was an estimated 1.17 million lives lost in a 100 day mass murder of the Hutu Tutsi army.
What do you think we can do to try and stop genocide happening?
If we act together we can compel our elected leaders to act on their responsibility to protect innocent men, women and children from brutal regimes.
Why do you think we should care about genocide and conflict in other parts of the world?
The less we act against genocide is our basic silent way of condoning it. Therefore if we want to eliminate genocide from happening until it eventually reaches our very own country and we have to face the consequences for not acting against it. Along with the genocide comes large sums of innocent people lose their lives, their children, mothers, father, aunts or uncles, grandparents. Imagine the fear and the pain that it would bring you if you lost your family like that, it would be a horrible way to go so why would you wish that on anybody else no matter where they are from or who they are.

Game Design with Blender
I have used Scratch and created a game with Scratch. I have used Python IDLE, I created a game on Python. Now I'm working on Blender, which is a 3D designing platform.
We are now learning how to set up our game using the sensors, logic gates and the actuator. The first step will be to acquaint ourselves with the sensors linking into the W,A,S,D keys and responding to the input with the AND logic. We will also be using some physics to make the cube jump and fall back to the ground to build a single level game. Once we can understand the mechanics we will progress to the next level and add on a few more layers.

Nga whakaaro o te wiki 2
Google maps
This week we have been doing stuff on Google maps and the teacher made up one for us about camp so we could go on it and do some work and answer some questions. We could also see what we would be up to while we were at camp.
Te Whare iti
We made up a model of a tiny house we had squared paper and we all had the same sized paper and we had to make a small but liveable house.
Translation/Reflection/Rotation
We have also been doing work with this on squared paper and we had to have a shape and then reflect and translate or rotate and reflect etc.
